Types of Iranian visas

Anyone wishing to travel to Iran can apply for a transit visa or tourist visa. The type of Iran visa you will receive and its validity depends on the current political situation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran, as well as the country. 

The rule is that the tourist visa is issued for one month. However, depending on the political action at the time of application, it may be difficult to get anything for more than 10 days.

Visa application requirements

Anyone wishing to apply for a tourist visa in Iran must submit the following:

Two copies of the complete visa application form

Passport with at least 1 month left till expiration.

Two passport size photos

Invitation letter with all necessary information

Day after day travel

Visa fee is payable by money order or cash

Applicants must submit round-trip airline tickets and proof of hotel reservation.

It is important to remember that visas will only be valid for cities that are vaccinated on the visa.

Tourists who wish to stay for more than three months must apply for a residence permit. The request must be made to Tehran’s police headquarters or foreign ministry within eight days of arriving in Iran.
