How to Install and Use Stremio On FireStick/Android Box [May 2022]

This guide will demonstrate how to install Stremio on FireSticks, Fire TV, Fire Stick 4K, and Fire Stick Lite.

Stremio allows you to stream movies and shows as well as a wide range of other online content. This service can be accessed on many platforms, including computers, mobiles, television devices, and other types of devices. How to Install Stremio On FireStick

Stremio can be downloaded from the Google Play Store but it is not available on Amazon Store. This app must be sideloaded onto your FireStick, FireStick 4K Max, and all other Fire TV devices. Sideloading refers to manual installation. It is not difficult as I will assist you.

First, you will need to install the Downloader App. This is a sideloading application for FireStick. Stremio APK cannot be downloaded directly from a browser.

1. The downloader app is available at the Amazon Store. It is possible to search it using the Search option from the home screen.
2. Find the Downloader App and install it.
3. Scroll to the FireStick’s home screen and choose the Settings option from the menu.
4. Click My Fire TV.
5. Now you should see the following options. Click Developer options.

6. Click Unknown apps.

NOTE: If you see Apps From Unknown Sources then turn that setting ON.

7. Turn on the Downloader app.

These steps will set up your FireStick Stremio setup. Let’s begin the installation process.

Stremio on FireStick Installation Steps

Here are the steps for installing the Stremio App on FireStick.

1. Start the Downloader App.
2. Enter the URL.
3. Type the URL http://strem.io and click Go.
4. Click at the bottom to load the page.
5. Click the hamburger icon.
6. Scroll to the bottom and click DELETE from the dropdown menu.
7. Scroll down to the Android section, and click on the Stremio APK.
8. Wait until the Stremio APK is downloaded. It usually takes less than 30 seconds, but it depends on how fast your internet is.
9. After the APK is downloaded, an installation window will open. Click Install.
10. Installation may also take less than a minute.

11. Don’t click OPEN until the app has been installed. Instead, click DONE for now and return the Downloader app.
12. Click Delete. We are deleting the APK file because it is not needed. This saves space on your FireStick storage.
13. Please click to delete again.

How to install Stremio on an Android TV Box

Stremio can be downloaded directly from Google Play Store to Android Boxes that run on stock Android OS (similar to the one used in Android mobiles).

Sideloading the Stremio App is required if you own an Android Box running true TV Android OS (such as Mi Box or Nvidia Shield) as it is not available in Google Play Store. To install Stremio, we will use the Downloader application.

These are the steps you need to take in order to sideload Stremio onto an Android TV Box

1. Open Google Play Store. (If it isn’t on the home screen click the Apps icon to the left).
2. Search the Play Store to search for the Downloader App (you might not find it by entering the name of the Downloader App).
3. You can click Downloader if you see it in your search results
4. Please click To install on the next window
5. To run Downloader, click (or access the Apps section to open it directly from your app drawer).
6. Select Allow when the Downloader app asks you for media and file access
7. On this prompt (it only appears the first time that you run Downloader), click OK
8. Click Go after typing in the URL.
9. Wait until the Downloader app copies the Stremio APK file to your Android Box storage.
10. The following prompt will appear if you have not enabled installation from unknown sources to Downloader. Click Settings.

11. Turn on the toggle next to Downloader, and then press the back button from your remote.
12. Click To Install.
13. Install again on this window.

14. Now delete the APK file of Stremio. Click DONE.
15. Click Delete.
16. Tap on to delete once more.
17. Now, we will open the Stremio application. Sideloaded apps are not visible in your app drawer. You cannot access Stremio from the app section. Instead, click Settings.
18. Please Click Apps.
19. Scroll to the bottom and click on the Stremioapp.
20. To run Stremio with Android TV Box, click Open

Stremio is one of the most popular online streaming services. The app allows you to stream all your favorite content, including shows, movies, live TV, and almost everything else. Although it is not as flexible as Kodi’s, I found it to be much more user-friendly. Even though there are only a few good add-ons available, you can still use them all.
