Here I have only mentioned the top 3 sites which you should not ignore to visit on your Udaipur sightseeing tour. Now for the good part, the best places to visit in Udaipur in just 1 day! I’m going to introduce you to the different places we visited and some places where we weren’t quite successful. Because we are working when we travel it may reduce our “visit” time, but if you are just traveling you will be managing all these sites with 2-3 days in Udaipur.

Here are the best 3 places to visit in Udaipur while your Udaipur sightseeing tour.

City palace

Udaipur City Palace is one of Udaipur’s top (if not the main) attractions and it should be on your list of places to visit in Udaipur in 2 days. It will take about an hour to explore this magnificent palace and it is a cheap experience.

It opens from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, and Bradley and I went at 4 am and had enough time. It can get very crowded but if you get there very early you might be able to beat the crowds. The palace complex itself is beautiful and there is a restaurant that serves golden coffee (as you can imagine it’s a bit pricey!)

I would recommend taking a guide to tell you all the stories and history of the place. It’s cheap and although everything is in English, you still miss some of the unguided essences.

‍Lake Pichola

Lake Pichola is an artificial freshwater lake and one of the largest and oldest lakes in Udaipur. It is famous for its beauty and its surroundings. This is the tourist hotspot and offers fabulous dining options with a great view of the lake. We had dinner at one of the restaurants by the lake for sunset dinner and drinks and the price was right, the staff great and great cocktails plus the view was wonderful.

For the life of me, I can’t remember his name, but I’m pretty sure it was on the front page of any sightseeing or travel portals or restaurant websites near Lake Pichola. I think the lake is best enjoyed in the evening so be sure to include it in your 2 day Udaipur itinerary. It is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Udaipur in nighttime.

You can hire a boat for the day and go to the lake, or you can even take a sunset boat ride which, although I didn’t, seems quite romantic.

Jagdish Temple

It is a fabulous Hindu temple just outside the city palace. It is dedicated to Vishnu (curator of the universe). You will naturally see this site on your trip to the temple.
